Lynch Park Sports Complex

The rehabilitation of this facility has cost over Thirty Million Dollars.  The repairs were done through the Portland Charity Fund in association with Private Sector partners and included:

 

  • Replacing the roof, windows and doors

  • Installation of a more durable gate

  • Construction of an area for adult students

  • Fencing, painting of entire facility

  • Repairing the caretaker area

  • Electrical and plumbing works

  • Construction of a water tank to supply the property with clean water

A Management Team of business persons and representatives of the major stakeholders has been put in place to monitor the affairs of this facility. This facility will continue to be operated and owned by the community. 

Computer Learning Centers

Through partnership with the Universal Service Fund, Portland Charity Fund has leased lands from NLA for the installation of a Computer Center that was recently completed but not yet handed over to the community. 

Woodstock Community Center

Through the partnership of the Sports Development Foundation (SDF) and CHASE we have recently completed works on the development of the Woodstock Community Center and Sports Complex.

 

SDF assisted us with resources for the lighting, fencing and rehabilitation of the playfield while CHASE assisted with the repairs of the building.

 

This was completed at a cost exceeding Thirty Million Dollars ($30M). The now start of the art facility is fully equipped with a play area, meeting space, and kitchen.  

 

Plans For The Future: 

  • Installation of a computer facility, as well as the upgrade and resurfacing of the multi-purpose court.  

  • This facility will then be handed over to the community during the summer break.

Black Hill Water Supply

Work has been completed on the upgrade and development of the Black Hill Water supply. The construction of a 50k gallon storage tank in the Canewood community to improve the water supply to residents of Canewood, Black Hill and Rodney Hall and all other neighboring districts has been completed. 

 

The construction of a pump house and the installation of the pump was completed. Now supplying fresh water to all the districts in and around the Black Hill area negatively affected by water shortage.

 

This project was completed in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Port Antonio at a cost of over Eighty Thousand United States Dollars ($80kUSD). 

Canewood Complex

The Canewood Multi-purpose & Recreational area is at was completed in collaboration with CEMEX and other private sector partners at a cost of over Thirty Million Dollars ($30m).This included the construction of community center, development of playfield and multipurpose court and fencing and lighting of the facility.

Belvedere Internet Supply

In collaboration with Island Network, an internet services provider, we have successfully installed the relevant infrastructure for the people of Craigmill and Belvedere.
